Lorilin Braymer is a certified Yoglates instructor and personal trainer, and has been involved in the fitness industry since 1985. She was an LSU cheerleader in the mid-1980’s, and upon graduation was, for the first time in her life, without some form of structured exercise to stay in shape. At the urging of her older brother she took her first aerobics class, and started down the fitness path. Lorilin is credited with being the first instructor to introduce “step aerobics” to the Baton Rouge community in the late 1980’s. And it was during that time that she first became involved with LSU’s football program. She was charged with the responsibility of training several football players on the wooden boxes, or “steps”, and within a few weeks the athletes met their fitness goals. Since then Lorilin has worked with and studied under the direction of Don Yesso at Yoglates I, Baton Rouge’s first heated yoga studio. They became business partners in 2005 and once again, Lorilin found herself in a position to help LSU’s athletic department. In an effort to increase the team’s core strength, balance and flexibility Coach Tommy Moffitt hired Lorilin and Don to teach Yoglates to the team. There have been many athletes to come through the Yoglates program, ranging from women’s softball players all the way to track and field athletes, former and current NFL players, and many others. It isn’t unusual to see some of these athletes in the studio during their off seasons.
Susan Marchand joined Lorilin as co-owner of Yoglates II in November of this year, after studying Yoglates under the direction of Don Yesso, founder and creator of the Yoglates workout system. Susan studied under Don’s direction for 8 years, and has been training in private as well as group settings for over 4 of those years. A certified Yoglates instructor, Susan has trained adults, children, athletes, men, women, and other instructors alike, in levels ranging from novice to expert. Susan’s background includes gymnastics and cheerleading at the high school and college levels. Susan cheered at LSU for 3 years, and was a member of the Universal Cheerleader’s Association staff in the mid 1980’s, instructing children and adolescents at camps across the country. Her background of 5 years of gymnastics, including participating on competitive teams, has enabled Susan to continue promoting health and fitness through Yoglates.Susan is also a Registered Nurse with 15 years of nursing experience, with certifications in Perianesthesia nursing, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and CPR.
April Hill has trained for 10 years with Yoglates and three years with Bikram Yoga in Fort Worth, TX. I am a Certified Yoglates instructor as well as a licensed Aesthetician. Our studio is a great outlet to educate and influence our members in overall wellness, physical exercise, the importance of deep yoga breathing, and our bodies’ largest organ, the skin.
I have never been a regular gym participant and was intimidated by the numerous machines, as well as having to ask someone, “How do these work again?” Thankfully, someone told me about Yoglates and my life was truly changed. I loved the fact that it was quiet (no intense music) and self - focused, and although it was hot and challenging, I felt AMAZING when I left each workout! In addition to getting into better shape, the real BENEFIT was realizing the relief from stress. Attending classes regularly made the challenges of life more manageable. Most importantly, I regularly practiced throughout both pregnancies of my two healthy girls. I have no doubt that is why my labor, delivery, and postpartum were so smooth.
Because of my passion for this program I am thrilled to bring a new studio to the south Baton Rouge and Prairieville area offering numerous class times as well as skin therapy. I am privileged to see how it will enhance your life too!
